Monday 3rd August 2015 - HOME

HAPPY 86th BIRTHDAY MUM

This morning we are going to Paramount on our way home to get the fridge fixed.  Has trouble lighting on the gas.  It is also Mum's birthday and the last day of our holiday.  Looking forward to being home and getting warm once again.  Freezing and wet holiday so hopefully the next one will be better.

Sunday 2nd August 2015 - Erin & Trevor's

Today we are going to watch Jake play in his 50th footy game.  Very exciting for him.  It is also the first semi final for his South Morang footy team so here's wishing him luck.

This afternoon picking Mum up and taking her over to Erin & Trevor's for afternoon tea.  First visit to their new house.

Saturday 1st August 2015 - Erin & Trevor's

Spent the night with Joy & Wayne and was hoping to do the garage sales with Joy on Saturday morning.  Unfortunately no garage sales this weekend....ahhh.  So it was off to have a look at a couple of "Booteek's" and then Hot Chocolate at the old Butter Factory.  On our way down to Erin & Trevor's we called in to catch up with Rochelle & Daniel for afternoon tea which was very nice. Staying tonight in front on Erin & Trevor's house so we can go and watch Jake play his 50th game of footy tomorrow.  First semi final for his South Morang team so here's wishing him luck.

Friday 31st July 2015 - Harcourt

Left Wagga Wagga and now heading to Joy & Wayne's for the night to catch up with them and check out their new caravan.  Traveled through a lovely little town called Lockhart where there was a very cute caravan park right beside the river and cheap at $21 per night.  Had a magnificent pie at the bakery and managed to take a few pictures of the interesting sculptures made out of all sorts of bits and pieces that are everywhere in the town.  Unfortunately the town has a tragic past with a farmer killing his family of 3 children and wife before shooting himself.....so sad that farmers are driven to this.

Thursday 30th July 2015 - Wagga Wagga

Left Lane Cove National Park and traveled to Wagga Wagga for the night.  Just before the turn off to Wagga Wagga we turned off the highway into a little town called Jugiong for afternoon tea and a look around the Long Track Pantry where we grabbed a home made Beer & Beef pie for tea.  There is also a memorial for a policeman that was killed there by The Hall Gang in 1864, by the name of Sgt. Edmund Parry.  Stayed in a very crappy Caravan Park at Wagga Wagga supposedly on the beach....hahah.  Wont be staying there again.

Wednesday 29th July 2015 - Lane Cove National Park

Left Hawks Nest and have headed to Lane Cove National Park for the night.  Managed to catch up with Glen & Hector for dinner at a lovely little Thai Restaurant in Lane Cove and drive around and have a look where Glen's new house is.  Great area and very pleased for him.

Tuesday 28th July 2015 - Hawks Nest

Off to explore the surrounding area and haver managed to find Myall Lakes National Park where there was a couple camped all by themselves at Mungo Brush.  Stopped and spoke with Roy & Noreen from Sydney and found out that you can book these sites on the internet and it is a really lovely spot right beside the lake, an easy walk and you are on the surf beach.  Think we may have to stay here on the way north next time.

This spot where Barry is looking out is called "Hole in the Wall"

Back into tea Gardens and had fish & chips at Mumm's Cafe in Anzac Park right beside the Singing Bridge crossing the Myall River.  Lovely spot and had a huge pelican staring at us waiting for a chip or two, no luck today, I think he would have taken off a finger or two by the look of him. Very tame which I think is a real shame.

Lots of Pelicans waiting at the boat ramp hopeful of a fisherman returning with a catch.
Barry took himself off fishing this afternoon and managed to catch a nice sized Flathead and a Tailor on his surf rod.  Haven't cooked Tailor before so that should be a nice experience.
